A one-woman theater piece set in post-9/11 America, Dirty Paki Lingerie tells the stories of six Pakistani?American Muslim women at the chaotic juncture of two different cultures. Written and performed by Aizzah Fatima, the play moves and entertains audiences with a unique and universal appeal that transcends boundaries of culture, religion, and gender; a “must-see” production has played to sold?out houses across the globe. An Evening of Self-Expression: MC Fong Tran

The MCC hosts an open mic for anyone to artistically express themselves through all creative outlets such as music, poetry, spoken word, and dance while educating others on current issues affecting students of color, women, and all marginalized groups. A second generation Vietnamese-American spoken word artist and poet, MC Fong Tran is driven by social justice, community liberation, and his mom.

Dr. Pashaura Singh will explore the social and religious processes through which Sikhism has evolved over the past five centuries. He will focus on teachings of the founder, Guru Nanak, and major doctrinal developments under subsequent Gurus. He will also explore Sikh traditions beyond the Indian subcontinent – particularly the Sikh presence in America – and address stereotypes held by many people unfamiliar with Sikhism. Dr. Singh is Professor of Sikh & Punjabi Studies at UC Riverside.
