Ask the Sexpert

MCC Theater

Ask the Sexpert is about Dr. Mahinder Watsa, a highly popular 93-year-old sex advice columnist and feminist man living in a deeply patriarchal society and a modern India that wants to talk about sex. The column’s brand of non-moralistic advice and humor has emboldened many to write in with their questions, even while a ban on comprehensive sex education in schools was adopted by approximately a third of India’s states. Ultimately, Ask the Sexpert is a universal story about the need for a safe space to talk about the body and about desire.

Tomorrow’s Power + Post-Film discussion with SJP

SJP

MCC Theater

Tomorrow’s Power takes us around the world from war torn, oil-rich Colombia where people have been building a peace process from the bottom up, to Germany, where activists are pushing the country to fully leave behind the extraction of fossil fuels and complete its transition to renewable energy. And finally, the film takes audiences to Gaza City where the problem of daily energy blackouts–borne out of the 11-year siege–is being tackled by health practitioners through solar power in order to provide essential care in hospitals. Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) will facilitate a conversation after the screening. Film will be presented with closed captioning.
